Observatory Visits - Prague 2006 - The Stefanik Observatory

In September we visited the beautiful city of Prague.

On the top of Pertin Hill the observatory houses some excellent telescopes.

The Western dome houses the 37cm Cassegrain (see below)

Next in the Main dome has a 20cm refractor with a whopping 3m focal length. We viewing the sun in whitelight with this scope and sunspot 904 was on view.

See here for my image of sunspot 904 with my now small looking scope. ;)

Also had my first view using an H-Alpha filter which showed a faint prominence extending from the solar disk.

Well overall the experiance was great and we had a really nice good time.
