Saturn

Its been quite a while since i have managed to image Saturn and tonight was going to be clear so I collimated my 8" Newtonian and setup for the night.
In the image below I have managed to capture many different cloud bands on the planet, this is the most detailed image of Saturn I have taken.



For a change I tried eyepiece projection to gain a better image scale and in the image above you can see that the rings have started to close up further (see my last images from 13th May 2006).
The seeing wasn't very good but i have managed a couple of images.
Using a 2 x barlow and 6mm eyepiece i captured the image below.

As you can see the seeing was still bad, but the image scale is very large. I'm unsure if imaging at such high powers could give a clear and sharp image, but i shall try further tests another night.
